🤱The importance of skin-to-skin after birth

That first hour after delivery, often called the golden hour, is one of the most powerful times for bonding. Placing your baby directly on your chest helps regulate their body temperature, heart rate, and breathing. It also encourages bonding, stabilizes blood sugar, and promotes early breastfeeding success.

For mothers, skin-to-skin can reduce stress, increase oxytocin (the “love hormone”), and support recovery. And when dads or partners practice skin-to-skin, it strengthens their bond with baby, comforts the newborn, and gives mom time to rest and recover.

Skin-to-skin isn’t just a moment, it’s a gift of connection that sets the tone for your baby’s first chapter.
